The Global Student Forum (GSF) is the worldwide platform uniting student movements across all regions. It represents more than 190 national and international student unions, reaching over 5,900 local organisations in over 130 countries and territories. Together, these organisations advocate for students’ rights, the protection of education as a public good, and the inclusion of student voices in decision-making at every level.
As a community, GSF connects students who are active in defending access to education, democracy, and social justice. Through its networks and working groups, GSF offers spaces where students can exchange ideas, learn from one another, and act collectively on global issues.
Students and student organisations can engage with GSF by joining campaigns, participating in consultations, contributing to statements, or collaborating on advocacy at the UN, UNESCO, and other international institutions. GSF also provides online learning opportunities through GSF Learning and helps students in need through the Student Help platform.
Membership in the Global Student Forum is open to democratic student unions and associations that represent students at national, regional, or international levels. Member organisations contribute to shaping GSF’s priorities, participate in assemblies and consultations, and collaborate on campaigns and policy work. Individuals who are not part of a member organisation can still engage by joining public events, online trainings, or volunteering opportunities.
By being part of the Global Student Forum, students become connected to a global peer network committed to solidarity, equality, and the defence of education as a human right.
